River Day 2014 Activities

 

Pre event A free pre-event on July 19 at 10:00 a.m. will be a chance to try out Nia, a combination of yoga, martial arts, and dance for health, wellness and fitness.  Pre-registration not required. 

 Another pre-event will be The Susquehanna Jamboree Kayak Fishing Tournament.  To find out information about it visit the Pennsylvania Kayak Fishing Association at http://pkfa.org.


River Float Kayak enthusiasts may want to join one of two River Floats organized by David Buck of Endless Mountains Outfitters (www.emo444.com) and Susquehanna Kayak and Canoe Rentals (www.kayaktheriver.com).  Rent a kayak and float down the river from Mehoopany or the Howland Preserve, arriving at Riverside Park just as the music begins at the pavillion!

Nature Explorations with naturalists

Displays by environmental organizations

 

1:00 pm  Karate Demo by High Energy Fitness and Karate.  While you are at  it, tour the High Energy Fitness and Karate center at Riverside Park to see all its programs at its Open House and meet the instructors.  From 2:15-2:45 pm there will be free demonstrations and mini classes with cardio kickboxing, step class, cycling, tone fit, and yoga instruction.

     Discover local farmers with produce for sale. 

Lazy Daisy Alpacas – live alpacas and clothing
